I’ve always loved to express through movement.

A childhood of dance classes led me to Bates College, where I received my BA in Dance and Womens’ Studies.  After that, I pursued modern dance and choreography professionally for a time; but as I moved away from that discipline- I found yoga.  The linking of movement and breath hooked me, and I soon noticed so many unexpected benefits.  I was more focused, but took myself less seriously, I was slower, and yet more efficient, I was stronger and more flexible.  Completely smitten, I received my RYT 200 in 2012 from O2 Yoga under the brilliant tutelage of Mimi Loureiro, Elliott McEldowney, and Ann Panopoulus.  I furthered my interest in all things holistic in 2018, becoming a Certified Integrative Life Coach with the Integrative Wellness Academy; and in 2019 with my Usui Reiki Level I training.
I love sharing what I’ve learned through teaching, and find I also learn something new from every student in my classes.  My classes attempt to integrate a vigorous movement practice, a strong energetic component, creative choreography, and of course, humor. 🙂 . A recent transplant from Somerville to Portland, I was thrilled to find the welcoming community at Rooted Collective, and am psyched to have the opportunity to teach here.
